I've been familiar with the dice for a many years but never had a chance to get them. I've also lurked around on HeroQuest forums for ages.

I lost my original set of HeroQuest dice over a decade ago along with most of the original game minis (I believe they were stolen when I was in university), but I pieced the game together with minis and alternative dice.

Now I'm finally getting around to purchasing these wonderful coloured dice. I intend to design a proper HeroQuest RPG with them.

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Fantasy Flight Games' new Warhammer Role-play 3rd Edition, but it uses a "dice pull system" based on dice very similar to the HeroQuest dice. I was really excited about the new Warhammer RP because of its apparent similarity to HQ, but then I bought it and I found that FFG made it way too complex. With these HQ dice though, I think I can make a very good, elegant and fast moving RP system.

Has anyone tried to make an RP system out of HQ? I think the combat rules can stay mostly the same, but there would need to be new rules for non-combat encounters.

I own the last Edition of WFRPS, the one without the new dice system. I don't think I will upgrade.
